CHAPTER 110
REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
January11, 2006

President Gary Graham called the meeting to order at 7:37 PM.

Vice-president Joy Jeffries was unable to be present.

Secretary Tom Hubbuch read the minutes from last month, which were accepted as read.

Treasurer Berry Bannon reported $2086.95 in the savings account, $543.07 in checking, two $500 CDs, and $30.00 in petty cash. $194.00 was paid to National for Chapter Insurance..

Greeting Chairman Don Tucker reported 18 members and two guests in attendance.

Committee Reports:

Young Eagles - Bob Allen volunteered to take over the Young Eagles Program.

Rough River – Nothing new.

Newsletter – Bruce asked for material to include in the Newsletter.

Bowman Eagles - All three planes are back in service. The membership of the club is now full at 60. Jack Kuhns has introduced a spin training program to meet the requirements for new CFIs.

Events:

The Bluegrass Ultralight Club, i.e. “BUG”, will hold its annual safety seminar on 1/27 & 28 in Lexington.

Old Business:

Gary requested that members help with ideas for meeting programs.
Berry reported that Ken Jordan, an EAA member in Frankfort, said the proposal to restrict airspace over the Capitol Building would nearly shut the airport down, and is not likely to be adopted.
Gary reported that Pat Patterson, owner of Miles Field, and who has been involved in the discussions of the proposed Oldham County airport, said that the field will be built.
Gary delivered the Leather Jacket to the raffle winner, Butch Newland, who is a long time EAA member. Gary said Butch was very appreciative to receive his prize.

New Business:

A fish dinner is planned for the March meeting.
Howard Edwards brought in a picture of a Curtis tri-engined float plane at the edge of the Ohio River, at a time when only the K&I Railroad bridge existed. We are not sure if Howard actually took the picture, or was merely a witness.
Berry had some good words to say about Lee Bottom, and showed the calendar that was sent to him.

Raffles:

None

The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 PM.

The post-meeting program was some video by Chapter member and PPC pilot Robert Wilmoth and his wife, Ann, including the 2005 Rough River Fly-in, the Scottsburg Fly-in and the Lee Bottom Fly-in.
