CHAPTER 110
REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
August 08, 2007

President Gary Graham called the meeting to order at 7:07PM.

All officers were present.

Secretary Tom Hubbuch read the minutes from the July 2007 meeting, which were approved.

Treasurer Berry Bannon had no formal report since he left the bank statements at home, but reported taking in $15 in dues. He also assured the membership that we do still have two $500 CDs.

Greeting Chairman Don Tucker reported 21 members and two guests in attendance.

Committee Reports:

Young Eagles - Bob Allen reported 26 young persons were flown on July 25. He has no events planned for the remainder of the year, but, depending on the fall weather and how busy our members and the volunteer pilots are, he may work in another event.

Ford Tri-Motor - Bob Allen is coordinating the Chapter volunteers and had a sign-in sheet available. Stacey Linn reported that Steve Koch and Bill Collins Ford have each sponsored a full flight, and Dave Bingman has donated the printing of flyers, which are being distributed. The Steve Koch sponsorship will be the basis for a raffle, with the chance to win a seat for $10 a chance, or 3 for $25. The drawing will be on 8/15. Ads will be on the Metro TV station on cable. Persons wanting to purchase a ride should sign up on the EAA web site. Some ideas are being kicked around for the Chapter booth. Rough River Fly-in - Berry showed the prizes that Black & Decker donated. The Chapter voted to donate $50 to the fly-in for additional door prizes. Berry explained the fly-in for the benefit of newer members and guests. Tom Hubbuch reported that the event insurance coverage has been received. It was suggested that for next year that the event be included in the Ky. government sponsored New Horizons newsletter.

Web Page & E-mail - Gary said he needs some new biographies of the members.

Bowman Eagles - Jim Nolan said the club has room for five or six new members.

Newsletter - No Report

Fall Picnic - The members seemed to prefer Willow Island as the location for the Fall Fly-in/Drive-in Picnic. Tom Hubbuch will contact Errol Hand to determine if Oct. 7, 14, or 21 is acceptable.

Old Business:None

New Business:

Projects - Berry Bannon brought his Corvair engine that he built for his Kitfox project, and Tom Hubbuch brought a rudder pedal and brake linkage that he built for his Sonerai 2 project.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:01PM.

The program included the showing of Berry Bannon’s Corvair engine that was mounted on a test stand in his truck. He said the rebuild was based on William Wynne’s work, and about 90% of the parts used are new. Wallace Hardin showed a couple hundred pictures that he took at Oshkosh, giving a short explanation for most of them. Light Sport Aircraft were in evidence.
