EAA CHAPTER 110
REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
August 11, 2004

 

 

7:39 President, Tom Hubbuch, called the meeting to order.
7:40 Vice President, Gary Graham, read the minutes from the July meeting. They were accepted as read.
Secretary, Joy Jeffries was present.
7:41 Treasurer, Berry Bannon, gave the treasurer's report. It was accepted as read.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Hospitality - Tom Mitchell reported 27 members attending.

Young Eagles - The next event is expected to be mid September and will be held midweek.

Rough River - Berry Bannon is heading up the event to be held Sep. 10-12. Registration for the banquet is $20 per person. He is still looking for a guest speaker and donations for door prizes. Wayne from the Vine Grove Chapter has several door prizes and the chapter elected to donate $50 for door prizes. The Glastars from last year are expected to return. The event is EAA insured.

Newsletter - Bruce Edsten reported that the next newsletter would be in September.

Bowman Eagles - currently at full membership. Both planes are running fine.

Picnic - Tom Hubbuch announced that October 3 seemed to be the best date for the fall picnic. Charlie Dean volunteered to speak to Errol Hand about holding the picnic at Willow Island airport.


OLD BUSINESS

The plaque for Gordon Carter was added to the wall during Airventure.


NEW BUSINESS

The nominating committee is to be appointed in September.

Dave Maultsby and Gary Graham volunteered to speak to George Gumbert about presenting at the November meeting.

Tom Mitchell spoke with Bill Musselwhite regarding the Fish & Wildlife building which has recently become vacant. This would make a headquarters where the chapter history and records could be preserved. Mr. Musselwhite responded that he would keep us in mind.

Don Jeffries requested that a letter be sent to the Regional Airport Authority addressing the contributions that the Aero Club had made to the chapter and the local aviation community.

8:35 Meeting adjourned. Various members who had recently attended Airventure presented their reviews.
