Committee Reports:
Young Eagles - Chairman Bob Allen announced that the next event would be held on Oct. 7 at the Bowman Old Terminal, starting at 9:00 AM. He expects about 50 young people, and need volunteers to help with flying and ground duties.
While Bob had the attention of the members, he spotlighted President Gary Graham who has been signed off for solo as a Sport Pilot, and is now flying off the required 40 hours of his Titan Tornado project. Gary just flew three hours, bringing
the total to date to 20 hours, and plans to fly it to the Willow Island Chapter Picnic in October. Bob reminded him that he could not carry a passenger yet, but there is no rule that prohibits him from bringing a back seat full of brownies. And, always being the helpful type, Bob gave Gary a bottle of wax and a set of polishing towels, and explained how these could be used to keep his bird bug free.
Rough River – Berry Bannon reported a successful weekend, with good local weather and about 150 aircraft attending, including a military Apache helicopter. Several Chapter members visited the fly-in, but Berry good naturedly lambasted some others who “should have been there”. Berry said that financially the Fly-in “broke even”.
Picnic - Picnic Chairman Tom Hubbuch announced that Errol Hand of Willow Island has invited us to hold our Fall Picnic in front of his hangar. The picnic will be Oct 15, and eating will start at 1:00 PM. All are encouraged to attend.
Bowman Eagles - Jim Nolan reported that the club has room for seven more members. Howard Edwards reported Jack Kuhn’s wife is in the hospital undergoing tests and is doing well.

Project Report
Don Jeffries showed pictures of he and Joy’s Murphy Rebel on the gear, with wings and tail installed. He said it is now time to hang the engine.
Old Business:
Jim Lasch confirmed that Chapter 110 would host a visit of the EAA B-17 “Aluminum Overcast” at Clark County Airport on Sept. 19 to 21. He is asking members to volunteer some time to help sell merchandise and with the tours through the aircraft. He asked if anyone had a connection to arrange for a courtesy car for the visitors to use.
New Business:
The membership indicated that it does support a pizza meeting in November. Gary indicated that a presentation of General Aviation in Israel, Iceland and Turkey is being lined up. Dinner will be from 6:30 – 7:30 PM, with a short meeting and the presentation following.
Gary explained that Charlie Gokey agreed to head up the Chapter Officers Nominating Committee, and will present a slate of officers at the October meeting. Floor nominations will be accepted at that meeting, and a vote will be conducted at the Nov. meeting.
Charlie Gokey discussed a technical problem he was having with hard starting on a VW engine with Slick mags. Suggestions to help solve the problem included installing regular non-resistor, non-platinum plugs and ensuring the gap was not too large.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:58 PM.
There was no program following the meeting, due to an apparent mix-up in communications with Rich and Ginger of Lee Bottom.
