CHAPTER 110
REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
December 14, 2005

President Gary Graham called the meeting to order at 7:33 PM.

Vice-president Joy Jeffries was present and anxious to win the leather jacket.

Secretary Tom Hubbuch read the minutes from last month, which were accepted as read.

Treasurer Berry Bannon reported $2084.35 in savings, $562.07 in checking, $30.00 in petty cash and two $500 CDs. $51.11 was paid out for various expenses and the cost for the pizza last month was $136.61 with various other food and supplies from Walmart costing $32.35. Berry said we did not lose on the pizza dinner this time. He reminded members that dues are due next month. He suggested that a donation be made to the Aero Club for allowing us the use of the meeting room. A motion was made to donate $125.00, which was seconded and approved.

Greeting Chairman Don Tucker reported 22 members and three guests in attendance, including Chuck Rhoads, who has a Europa powered by a four cylinder Geo Metro engine, and is looking for hangar space.

Committee Reports:

Young Eagles - Past YE Chairman Jim Lasch passed around a thank-you card from Cub Scout Pack 424. President Gary Graham presented to Jim gift certificates from Hooters as a token of thanks for his past service. Gary said he is still asking for a volunteer to take over the YE program, and there is time for everyone to think about it until Spring.

Rough River – Berry Bannon shared some thoughts for the next fly-in, including using the large tent as a gathering/relaxation area, and maybe having ice cream available and a video display of past fly-ins. He would like to recruit hot air balloons, and is looking forward to a return of Robert Wilmoth and his PPC. He is planning for three button designs, including one for the RV flyers, one for the Glastar fans, and one of another design.

Newsletter – No new issues.

Bowman Eagles - Howard Edwards reported that the Champ is back together and should be flying soon.

Old Business:

Gary issued a last chance offer to purchase chances for the Leather Jacket Raffle.
Information on the EAA/Ford partnership for the purchase of a new Ford vehicle was made available.
Gary Graham presented Chapter Service Awards to the 2005 Officers, Committee Chairs and Technical and Flight Advisers.
There is serious talk of building a new airport in eastern Oldham County. As a matter interest, Gary read a newsletter article from July 1954 of plans for an air tour promoting Oldham County.
Gary reviewed the efforts made to plan for meeting programs, and asked the membership to consider putting together short presentations of a technical nature for next year.

New Business:

Bob Allen suggested that members write Jullian Carroll to share their thoughts on the proposal of establishing a Flight Restriction Area around Frankfort.
Howard Edwards elegantly presented a cupcake with candle to Jack Kuhns for “living so long”, and led the membership in a spirited singing of “Happy Birthday”.

Raffles:

Bill Tatum won the monthly door prize – a battery-free flashlight.
Mitch Newland of Charlestown, whom, unfortunately, no one knew, won the Leather Jacket raffle. Gary will contact Mitch. The meeting was adjourned at 8:11 PM.

The program was to be some video of the Lee Bottom Fly-in and a video of the Ford Motor Company’s role in early aviation. Unfortunately, the video projector would not cooperate, and these presentations will be held for a future meeting.
